My name is Olivera (Mircov) Rusu.
I was born 36 years ago and my home-town is Timisoara, Romania. I change my life 7 years ago when I moved in San Pedro, a cozy town located on the island of Ambergris Caye in Belize.
A few years ago, when I started serious photography, I didn’t know that my customers would like my style so much. Today I can say I’m proud of my work.
My style takes into account the needs of the client, the scene being shot, as well as the location. I like to be very intimate and close up to capture the play of emotions on the face. The most powerful point of the image is so often in the eyes!
My passion in photography make each photo unique. During my sessions, I give you the freedom to inject your own personality and I use the elements available. The ability to let things develop naturally creates one of a kind pictures that look natural.
I am a professional photographer in Belize, but I’m also a wife and mother. Family time is very important to me so I do not book events on Sundays, Christmas/Easter… This also limits my professional travel outside Belize.
My professionally achievements in 2011 exceeded my expectations. These included:
– I flew to Hollywood, California to make production stills on a movie set
– My first photoshoot in a Cave was wonderful and gratifying
– I shot 7 calendar pages for the Belikin 2012 calendar (I had the chance to inject my own vision with the photos and change completely the style of the calendar)
2010
– I have been very excited about a project started in 2010 promoting Weddings at Mayan Ruins including my first photoshoot at Xunantunich, Belize. Photos from that shoot can be seen at http://www.MayanRuinsWeddings.com.
– I was the official photographer hired by the Belize Government and I photograph 7 presidents (all Central America) at SICA (Central America Integration System).
I feel extremely lucky to live the life of my dreams.
Through my photos I’m trying to show the best from what I see around us, so you can see the world the way I see it :)
People is my specialty… because I love emotions this is what I capture. I meet my customers and try to spend some time with them before I photograph them, so I can capture THEM, their personality, not just their body. Weddings are my weakness… and I’ll do my best to make sure your special day in a special way in this Paradise called Belize
